The state currently requires that a parent or an organization a response within a reasonable time to receive a written notification when the request is made tests. (A reasonable time is not defined at this time.) Please understand that schools are not obliged to prove that the child, just because you have requested. He used to be, but is not due to changes because of the idea (according to NCLB) Pulse-based research intervention (RTI). Ohio, RTI is a big country, so that there are some areas that do not often IQ / performance tests, because they use another method of first use. Of course you can always ask for a formal eval, but I'm not sure how it works. I'm in an environment that tries to do is a combination of both.

Normally, when my school is a request by the parents, send a written notice that they are free until we met at a meeting of the intervention to refuse (if we do not). Normally, we are planning 2 weeks after receipt of the letter. Then, at the hearing to hear the parents and talk to classroom teachers, and check the recording Cume review history and see what assistance has already been done and what needs to be done (if anything) can be completed before an eval.

Once the suspects together the team that the child has a disability (and it is in May in the meeting, support or) a subsequent meeting, the school has 30 calendar days to obtain informed consent with your signature. Therefore, you can not give permission, in a cover letter because they do not say what is going to school. Parents were angry with me about this, but I can not accept until I had a signature brochure (parental rights and obtained his signature confirming that fact) and received approval. Then the clock starts to the test. Team Meeting (test and evaluation to discuss the results) that must be made within 60 days of signing. If the child is eligible, the student's IEP must be written and launched within 30 calendar days. So if you have recently applied theirCalendar day requirement may be your problem, because staff are not available to complete the eval. Psych evaluation not only the school, but speech therapists, teachers, nurses, and one that is neeed.

I say this knowing that the rule of the State of Ohio 1st July change. Will probably get a little more to the new procedures, etc., but now we are still under the old rules, so if I'm not a copy of the prospectus for the rights of the father, I have attached a link. You should have received when you submitted your application for eval.
